On the meridian of time, there is no injustice: there is only the poetry of motion creating the illusion of truth and drama.

Quotient Quotables and Potent Potables

Not that my brain can ever remember them for practical application in conversation, but I loves me some quotes. For example, right now I'd really like to be able to remember the exact words and person who said something to the effect of "Have you ever noticed how you pay more attention to the words when they are quoted than when they were in the original writing?" But the best I can muster is a paraphrase close enough to the original to both infuriate me and insult the original author/speaker.

To help indulge me in my love for reveling in other people's soundbites, I have my homepage set to iGoogle, which I can customize with as many beautiful widgets as I want. Among my Calvin & Hobbes, Garfield, and Dilbert comic strips, my National Geographic and funny cat pictures (today's being a cat in a Pringles can, lol), my 9-language translator, my local weather update, my Wikipedia search engine, word of the day, and feeds to my favorite blogs, but I have 6 different quote widgets. One just for Einstein and one just for Jon Stewart; one for literary quotes, two for random quotes, and one for funny quotes.

And now without further ado, random quote generator #2 brings you three great quotes:

Don't worry about people stealing an idea. If it's original, you will have to ram it down their throats.
The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations.

If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one?

A testament to my lazy blogger butt - Gody's been working in Cupertino, CA for about a month now, and I'm just now getting around to blogging it.

Some of you might remember me mentioning that I was helping a friend from NE with his resume, trying to get him a job with Apple. Well, yatta! And with our success, not only does Gody have his own office (complete with door, my friends, oh yes, a door!), but I am now a mere 3 degrees from Steve Jobs as the perks of Gody's job include not just his own office with door, but also briefing directly to Stevo. Woo!

Now, if I could just afford to get my butt out there so that I could soak up a little of that 73 degree, sunshiny California weather...

Say hello to porch kitty!

I haven't necessarily decided on a name for this mrow, but it's likely something like Moocha Bella. She's a mooch, so Moocha. She's pregnant and looks like a bell, and she's pretty, so Bella.

But while Moocha Bella is getting all the luv and attention, poor O-ren was forced to watch my traitorous affection just mere inches away.

But I've got to say, I'm very proud of both mrows. In cat-speak, they were exceedingly polite to each other. Heck, in felinese, they weren't just polite for their first meet and greet, they were downright friendly. Which makes me wonder, since I'm sure that O-ren could tell that Moocha was pregnant, did she therefore not consider her a threat or whatever? Is there an unwritten kitty code?

But who, sir, then made Conan O'Brian?

One more reason I miss having cable. :)
