Hello world, goodbye again!

I'll pause my antisocial streak momentarily (else it wouldn't really be a pause, now would it?) to finally get a post up for 2008.

First, after accidentally starving myself all day yesterday (yeah, I kinda forgot about food again) and then having dinner plans pulled out from under me, I found a silver lining. I managed to get my butt out of the apartment all by my lonesome and remembered that when I'm only concerned with my own palette, I can have bun bo nuong (beef and vermicelli dish), fries, and a McFlurry for dinner. But note that it pays to have long hair and a friendly disposition when walking into a Vietnamese restaurant with a McDonald's bag. :D And as a side note saved from a week ago, challenging the staff of an Indian restaurant to "make me sweat" and then winning also scores you lots of free dessert and killer service for life, it seems.

But most importantly, though you can't buy my love, you can certainly turn me into your lifelong adorer by piling me (quite literally) with so many good books that I'm like a bumblebee in the STL Botanical Gardens... sigh... paradise... I really miss that place, but until the weather warms and I can arrange a pleasure cruise up I55, I'm quite content to bed down in the paradise presented to me by Kimborough Fair.
